Toby has 20+ years of experience in environmental assessment and management across and range of industries including resources, agricultural, infrastructure and government sectors.  

Toby heads up Impact Ag’s Australian business and advises globally on natural capital capabilities. He has led the successful participation and delivery of a number of transformative natural capital deals and is at the forefront of measurement and monetisation of agriculturally based natural capital.

Bindi leads Impact Ag Partners’ newest strategy in Australia – Agri Carbon Investments – a Joint Venture with SLM Partners formed to provide investment pathways into regenerative agriculture and carbon.

Previously Bindi was part of the team that over 5 years built and operated one of the largest grain producers in Australia, Daybreak Cropping, a 100,000ha geographically-diversified dryland row cropping business on behalf of an Institutional Investor.

 At Daybreak Cropping, Bindi was responsible for delivering key strategic commercial relationships in areas such as procurement, contracting, grain marketing and precision agriculture as well as financial and management reporting to the Investor.

Prior to moving into corporate agriculture, Bindi held senior finance and management roles in the Australian offices of global agricultural commodity trading houses COFCO International and Nidera as well as various board positions in the rural and regional for-purpose space.

Bindi has an Executive MBA from Melbourne Business School, a Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) from the University of Sydney, and is a Chartered Accountant. Originally from Inverell in Northern NSW, she maintains involvement in her family’s mixed farming enterprise.

A 5th generation Montana rancher, still overseeing his family’s ranch, founded in 1908, Zach has combined his years growing up, working on, and managing the family ranch with co-founding and operating multiple land-based businesses.  For the past 15 years, Zach has innovated and led holistic and regenerative management across assets in several U.S. states and abroad in New Zealand.
More recently, through the past five years, Zach has been focused with teams on catalyzing both family office and institutional investment explicitly into regenerative agriculture, as well as supporting regenerative agriculture’s rapid growth through new third-party certifications, its emerging consumer-market premiums, and as a scalable solution to climatic, economic, and social challenges.
Zach, based in Bozeman, Montana, is Senior Vice President and COO of Impact Ag’s U.S.-based business.

Melinda Atkin

Chief Financial Officer

After completing a Bachelor of Financial Administration in 1995, Mel has been a Chartered Accountant for 22 years. She specialises in management based accounting and has held a number of senior roles across a variety of industries, including state and local Government, private practice, and tertiary education. She has experience in the administration of small and large business and is proficient in the development of funding proposals and business support services.

Mel grew up in the New England and has a strong interest in agriculture and aquaculture. She joins Impact Ag Partners to help boost our continued success by providing advice and assistance in a rapidly changing industry and economic environment.

Tom Archer

Operations Manager

Tom has been involved in the agricultural industry all his life, growing up and living on the land. He has a practical background having had roles from jackeroo through to an operations manager for a large corporate.

Tom has the vision to have a positive influence on the responsible stewardship of quality land ensuring long-term benefits for the soil, production and environment. Along with this, is the importance of highly productive, low-stress livestock and sustainable cropping.

Tom’s assistance in engaging and mentoring the people and assisting in the development of the culture required, underpins successful relationships with our partners.

Investment Manager

After completing a Bachelor of Agribusiness, Rural Science at UNE, Tilly commenced working for the largest Australian beef producer for over 15 years from the ground up including starting as a jillaroo and then successfully delivering roles as a Livestock Administer, Financial Analyst, Livestock Logistics Manager and Project Manager.

Tilly now leads the financial and production analysis within Impact Ag Partners, assisting with partner strategy, producing financial models, budgets and management reporting across a variety of jurisdictions and commodities.

Compliance Manager

Growing up on a farm and gaining a Bachelor of Rural Science with 1st Class Honours and Grad certificate in Management, has Ashley well placed to support our clients.

Before joining Impact Ag Partners, Ashley had 10 years’ experience working with a vertically integrated beef company building her skills in Beef Breeding and Backgrounding Properties, Feedlot and Meat Processing.

Ashley’s expertise is in Quality and Food Safety Management Systems and Animal Welfare Management Systems and is experienced in data analysis.

Co-Chief Investment Officer (US)

Formally the Founder & Managing Member of Tellus Partners, a prominent Agribusiness Private Equity platform supported by global family offices and institutions. Prior to founding Tellus, Jacob worked at AcreTrader, a leading farmland and real asset marketplace. Jacob has also managed diverse farmland and farming companies specializing in speciality crops, row crops, and livestock with Farmland Reserve, His experience also includes serving as the Director of Investments at Linden Global Strategies, a New York City-based firm managing $3 billion in assets. In 2011, he played a pivotal role in launching the business, overseeing the development of the investment platform and direct investments. Before this, Jacob was an investor with a prominent single-family office in New York. He has demonstrated a consistent ability to identify and execute significant investments across various capital structures, strategies, and asset classes. Outside of his professional endeavors, Jacob contributes as an Adjunct Professor of Economics at Brigham Young University and is an active member of The Economic Club of New York. He holds an MS from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Having grown up and worked in agriculture her whole life, and the completion of Bachelor of Natural Resources with Honours has seen Sara in several agricultural positions and over 20 years’ experience in sustainable land management and regenerative agriculture. She has previously held roles with Landcare Australia, developing and leading landscape scale remediation projects and championing education and development of land managers.

At Impact Ag, Sara leads a variety of natural capital projects including soil carbon projects, biodiversity assessments and research & development initiatives. She is involved with a variety of industry groups that are leading both practice change and legislative change to facilitate wider adoption and returns for regenerative agriculture.

Pam Lyford grew up on a 3rd generation-family farming operation in Northern Illinois and was involved with livestock projects as a 10-year member of her local 4-H program. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Western Illinois University in Agriculture Education and a Bachelor of Arts from Wichita State University in Business.

After earning her degrees, Pam taught high school agriculture and FFA, and worked with K-8th graders through outdoor education programs. Pam moved to Kansas and worked for Koch Industries for 30 years, with the last 20+ years working specifically with the ranching operations.

Pam is now the Natural Capital Manager & Compliance Manager for Impact Ag Partners, focusing on the health and safety of their investor’s assets and managing natural capital and wildlife projects.

Ellah grew up on a cropping farm on the south-west slopes of New South Wales and completed a Business Degree with a double major in Agribusiness and Management. In Ellah’s final year of study, she joined Impact Ag Partners on a part-time basis as a Research & Data Analyst. After her studies, Ellah transitioned to a full-time Graduate position and has gained valuable experience across all aspects of the Impact Ag business including supporting on-farm operation management. Since progressing from the Graduate program, Ellah now supports the team in industry and asset research, data collection, due diligence, marketing of commodities, budget and forecasting to assist investors’ operations and strategic plans.

Throughout her professional trajectory, Lora’s journey has encompassed a range of roles, showcasing her versatility and expertise. As an educator at Montana State University, Lora focused on regenerative agriculture, soils, rangeland and riparian health, and holistic decision-making, imparting her knowledge to aspiring minds. Additionally, she gained invaluable hands-on experience by managing large herds of grazers, developing a profound understanding of practical land management techniques.

Lora’s commitment extends beyond individual endeavours, as she thrives on forging connections and fostering collaboration with stakeholders. By aligning visions and working collectively, she has successfully achieved goals pertaining to property asset management, making a lasting impact on the sustainability and productivity of land resources.
